On November 10, three stamps dedicated to nuclear submarines of Projects Borey-A, Yasen-M, and a diesel-electric submarine of Project 677 Lada were put into postal circulation in the Maritime Fleet of Russia series

The submarine fleet is a peculiar kind of naval force. Its main advantage is the stealth of operations, the ability to conduct combat operations in any area of the World Ocean and under the ice of the Arctic basin. This makes it possible to solve a wide range of tasks to safeguard national interests of Russia, to protect the state frontier, to carry out reconnaissance and inflict defeat on enemy ground, above-water and underwater objects.

Submarines of Project 955 Borey (955A Borey-A) are a series of Russian strategic nuclear-powered submarines of the fourth generation. They are carriers of intercontinental ballistic missiles, thereby providing strategic deterrence in the interests of the country's global security. They are designed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau and are under construction at JSC PO Sevmash.

Submarines of Project 885 Yasen (885M Yasen-M) are a series of Russian multi-purpose nuclear-powered submarines of the fourth generation with cruising missiles. They are distinguished by conceptually new complexes of radio-electronic weapons, automatics, the main propulsion plant and technical means. The tasks of these nuclear submarines are to fight against submarines and ship groups, as well as to strike at enemy surface facilities. The project was developed by SPMBM Malachit and the submarines are under construction at JSC PO Sevmash.

Submarines of Project 677 Lada are a series of Russian multipurpose diesel-electric submarines (DES), which were designed with the use of a number of innovative solutions, including radio electronics and high-precision weapons systems. Low noise level, high automation and powerful armament allow the submarines to perform effectively the tasks of destroying enemy equipment, defending naval bases and conducting reconnaissance. The project was developed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau and the submarines are under construction at the Admiralty Shipyards.

The postage stamps provide images of nuclear submarines of Projects Borey-A, Yasen-M, and a diesel-electric submarine of Project 677 Lada.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg and Severodvinsk of the Arkhangelsk Region, as well as maxi-cards and an illustrated cover with postage stamps, a label and a First Day Cover with a cancel for Moscow and Severodvinsk of the Arkhangelsk Region inside.
