On August 29, stamps dedicated to the cities of Ivanovo, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Lugansk, Nizhny Novgorod, and Yakutsk were put into postal circulation in the Cities of Labor Valor series



A City of Labor Valor is an honorary title of the Russian Federation, instituted by the Federal Law of March 1, 2020, “in order to commemorate the feat of home front workers during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”. It is granted to the cities of the Russian Federation, whose residents "made a significant contribution to the achievement of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 by providing uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, located in the city, and demonstrated massive labor heroism and selflessness”.

The postage stamps provide images of:

— memorial To Heroes of the Front and Home Front in Ivanovo (sculptor A. Kibalnikov);
— tank T-34 Irkutsk Komsomol Member (Irkutskii Komsomolets) in Irkutsk;
— monument The Union of the Front and Rear in Krasnoyarsk (sculptor A. Kovalchuk);
— monument to workers of the machine-building factory in Lugansk (sculptor G. Smeshnoi, architect B. Chelombit’ko);
— sculptural composition To the Gorky Residents - Valiant Home Front Workers in Nizhny Novgorod (sculptor A. Shchitov);
— monument The Family of a Winner Soldier in Yakutsk (sculptor A. Romanov, architects V. Nesterov and S. Nikiforov).

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, Ivanovo, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Lugansk, Nizhny Novgorod, and Yakutsk.
