On August 11, a ceremony took place of special cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the state administrative agency in the field of physical culture and sports

The event was attended by Oleg Matytsin, the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation; Svetlana Romashina, a 7-time Olympic Champion, 21-time World Champion, and 13-time European Champion in artistic swimming; and David Musulbes, the President of the Russian Union of Athletes, an Olympic Champion in freestyle wrestling, 2-time World Champion, and 6-time European Champion.

The postage stamp provides an image of a jubilee emblem of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

The face value of the postage stamp is 63 rubles; the Print Run is 72 thousand stamps. The design is by Artist Nadezhda Karpova.

The postage stamps were put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.

Traditionally, issues of the state valuable postal matter of the Russian Federation are timed to landmark historical events, or are dedicated to outstanding personalities, nation-wide projects and major backbone enterprises of the Russian economy, state-run and public organizations.
