The event took place in Tver. It was attended by Valentina Novikova, a Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Tver Region and the Minister of Social Protection of the Public of the Tver Region; Evgeny Pichuev, the Chairman of the Tver City Duma; Anna Pugach-Dementieva, the Artistic Director of the Andrey Dementiev Poetry House, a journalist and a radio host; Elena Sutormina, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russian Peace Foundation and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Andrey Dementiev Poetry House; and Alexander Shkolnik, the Director of the Victory Museum.
Andrey Dementiev (1928-2018) was a poet, radio and TV personality; he was also known as a songwriter. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Yunost magazine (1981-1992). An Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation (2004). The Winner of the USSR State Prize (1985). A Member of the USSR Union of Writers. An Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. More than 50 books of poems by the poet were published. In August of 2019, the All-Russian poetry prize named after A. Dementiev was instituted. Andrey Dementiev’s awards: the Order of Badge of Honor (1970); the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1978); the Order of the October Revolution (1984); the Order of Lenin (1988); the IV Class Order of Merit for the Fatherland (1998); the III Class Order of Merit for the Fatherland (2008); the Order of Honor (2013) and other awards.
