The history of the Sovcomflot Company began on March 22, 1973, when Alexey Kosygin, the Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, decreed the conduct of commercial operations of the domestic maritime fleet on the international freight market. That decision that was innovative under the conditions of the planned Soviet economy gave an additional impetus to the development of the trading marine fleet of our country and became the actual starting point of Sovcomflot activities. Today, SCF Sovcomflot is one of the world's largest energy carriers, possessing one of the most advanced and high-tech fleets in the world, as well as unique expertise in Arctic shipping.
The stamped envelope features the Ocean Prospect oil tanker and the logo of the Company. The Print Run is 250 thousand copies. The envelope was put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.
