On June 1, four postage stamps dedicated to domestic road-building machinery were put into postal circulation

Russia produces a great variety of types of road-building machinery. Depending on the field of application, machines are divided into the following groups: for preparatory work (brush cutters, grubbers, rippers, bulldozers, scoop shovels, graders, and scrapers); for laying and maintenance of road pavements (angle cutters, asphalt pavers, and road rollers); for production and transportation of concrete mixtures (cement lorries, concrete mixers and pumps); for construction of artificial structures (hammers and pile drivers); for working of quarries and material treatment (loading appliances); for road cleaning, as well as crushing and screening equipment, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic conveying plants.

The postage stamps present the following Russian road-building machinery:

Tracked asphalt paver ASF-G-4-04 with gas heating is designed for paving roads with all types of bitumen-concrete mixtures. It ensures high quality of asphalt paving during long-term work that requires high traction forces and high power. It is effective both for construction of ordinary motorways and express highways.

Soil compactor DM-614 is intended for compaction of soils of varying degrees of cohesion, crushed stone and gravel for large and medium scopes of work on the construction of bases for urban roads of any type, airfields, dams and industrial sites. It features high efficiency and reliability and can be used in both industrial and road construction.

Road grader UMG AG-140 is an upgrade of the most popular GS-14.02 grader. It is in practice completely assembled with Russian components. The grader can perform energy-intensive earth-moving and grading operations on road construction on the grounds of the 1st to 4th categories.

Frontload truck ChETRA PK12 is the most powerful Russian wheel loader designed with the use of modern technical solutions and consumer requirements. The loader embodies all the advanced design solutions that make the machine efficient, reliable and easy to operate.

The postage stamps feature: tracked asphalt paver ASF-G-4-04; soil compactor DM-614; road grader UMG AG-140; and frontload truck ChETRA PK12.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Bryansk, Yekaterinburg, Rybinsk of the Yaroslavl Region, and Cheboksary, as well as maxi-cards and an illustrated envelope with postage stamps, a label and a First Day Cover with a cancel for Moscow inside.
