On May 27, the Collectioner show room in Moscow hosted a meeting of young philatelists

On May 27, on the eve of the Children's Day, JSC Marka held a meeting for the younger generation of philatelists. Children aged 7 to 12 came to the Collectioner show room with their parents. A special children's educational guessing game was arranged for them, which included questions and riddles related to postage stamps, history and objects of philately, and mailing.

The meeting was attended by Anatoly Gutman, an experienced philatelist and an ex-director of a Moscow school, who has been collecting stamps for over 60 years and runs children's philatelic circles. He showed the children his collections, told them about traditional and thematic collecting and explained by examples that a postage stamp is a guide to a fascinating world of knowledge and stimulates interest in additional study of a topic or event.

Then the young philatelists demonstrated their artistic capabilities as well: each of them drew his/her own postage stamp and put a souvenir stamp impression on their postcards. All the participants of the meeting were given unmarked art postcards with the image of the new philatelic heroes: a boy named Fili and a girl named Vestochka. They accompanied the whole event with their fascinating stories and explanations.

The partners of the philatelic event were developing children's magazines PonyMashka and Klassnyi Zhurnal (Class Book), which presented all the young guests of the event with their publications and a discount on the subscription, information portal Philately.ru and the Standard-Collection Publishing House of special-purpose reference books and catalogs.

Many thanks to all the participants of the meeting! Share your opinions and impressions! Post your stamp drawings in the comments.

This was the first meeting for children, and JSC Marka intends to spread this experience to other regions of Russia to attract the attention of children and young people to philately.
