The staff of JSC Marka expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Andrei Vadimovich Strygin

On April 28, 2023, Andrey V. Strygin, the President of the National Academy of Philately of Russia, a doctor of economic sciences, professor, the Editor-in-Chief of the World of Stamps and Coins magazine, a member of the central office of the UN Association of Russia, a full member of the Russian Academy of Social Sciences, and a full member of the European Academy of Philately, passed away at the age of 71.

Andrey Strygin was a prominent representative of the Russian and international philatelic community, a person of remarkable professional knowledge and personal qualities. He headed the promotion and development of philately among Russian and foreign philatelists.

Over the years, Andrey Strygin cooperated fruitfully with Joint-Stock Company Marka concerning the issues of the development of philately and holding of joint philatelic exhibitions and arrangements.

During his work in the Academy, various philatelic studies were performed, as well as independent examinations of materials and projects, an analysis and evaluation of the current development of philately; representatives of the organization participated in the elaboration of national and international philatelic projects, exhibitions and other arrangements related to the promotion and development of philately, assisted in providing legal protection and support for members of the Academy, as well as their entry into international philatelic structures.

Andrey Strygin is the author of more than 100 scientific papers, including one monograph and seven textbooks and manuals. Under his supervision, 14 theses for a degree of candidate of economic sciences were prepared.

The team of JSC Marka would like to convey the deepest condolences to the family, close relatives and friends of Andrey Strygin. The best and bright recollections about our friend will always remain in the memory of Russian and foreign philatelists.
