On February 28, four postage stamps were put into postal circulation in the Contemporary Art of Russia series

  
  
 
The Contemporary Art of Russia series of postage stamps presents the artwork of modern authors who convey the atmosphere of new Russia, its identity and dynamism, demonstrates the techniques and approaches to creating paintings and sculptural compositions that are peculiar to our times.

Gennady Yefimochkin is a People's Artist of the Russian Federation. Gennady Yefimochkin was born in 1932 in Moscow. He is a member of the Artists Union of the USSR since 1969, a participant of the Moscow, Regional and International exhibitions. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (1995), a Diploma and Gold Medal Man of the Year 1999 of the American Biographical Institute. His works are present in the Kiev National Museum of Russian Art, the Russian State Library, the Dresden City Art Gallery, and private collections abroad.

Oleg Ignatov is an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Oleg Ignatov was born in 1964 in Rostov-on-Don. He is a Professor of the Department of Painting, Sculpture and Graphics of the Southern Federal University, the Chairman of the Rostov regional branch of the All-Russian Artists’ Social Organization Union of Artists of Russia. He was awarded a Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, a Diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the Rostov Region for his project Modern Art for Locals of the Don (2006), a gold badge of the Union of Artists of Russia (2009) and other honorary awards.

Nikolai Zheltushko is an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Nikolai Zheltushko was born in 1947 in the village of Starominskaya of the Krasnodar Region. Since 1974, he has been a permanent participant of all-Union, Republican and Foreign exhibitions, a member of the Youth Association of the Moscow Regional Union of Artists of the RSFSR, a member of the Painting Commission of the Union of Artists of Russia. Artworks of the artist are present in museums in Moscow and other cities of Russia, as well as in private collections in Germany, Greece, Italy and Japan.

Andrei Koval’chuk is a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, a sculptor, a tutor, and a professor. Andrei Koval’chuk was born on September 7 of 1959 in Moscow. He is the Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of Russia (since 2009), a Winner of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2007) and the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation (2005).

Konstantin Kuz’minykh is an honored artist of the Russian Federation. Konstantin Kuz’minykh was born on September 15 of 1960 in Magadan. He has been a participant of professional art exhibitions (since 1982): foreign, All-Union, republican, zonal, territorial and regional. Kuz’minykh is a member of the Artists Union of the USSR (since 1989), the Chairman of the Magadan regional branch of the All-Russian Artists’ Social Organization Union of Artists of Russia (since 2001).

The postage stamps provide images of the following:

— painting In the Fishery by G. Yefimochkin (2009);
— painting Panacea I by O. Ignatov (2014);
— painting Kimzha. Hope by N. Zheltushko (2021);
— monument For the Heroes of ALSIB by A. Koval’chuk and K. Kuz’minykh (2020).

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and St. Petersburg.
