On January 12, a postage stamp dedicated to figure skating was put into postal circulation in the Sports series

Figure skating is a skating sport that refers to complex coordination sports. The basic idea consists in an athlete or a pair of athletes moving on skates on the ice with changes in the direction of skating and performing additional elements (pirouettes, jumps, combinations of steps, hand spots, etc.) to music.

In 1908 and 1920, figure skating competitions were held in the Summer Olympics; figure skating was the first of the winter sports to be included in the Olympic program. Since 1924, figure skating has always been part of the Winter Olympics.
Since 2014, the Winter Olympics program includes team figure skating competitions.

The postage stamp features an image of a figure skater in ladies singles skating.
