Proceeding from numerous responses from JSC Marka network subscribers and the results of the online voting for the audience choice award, the jury additionally viwed a competitive drawing by Polina Mitroshkina from Sukhoy Log, the Sverdlovsk Region, and decided on the second winner of the contest.
On the basis of the drawings of the competition winners, JSC Marka will produce two New Year postage stamp to go on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain throughout the country.
The first winner of the contest is Svetlana Chernykh from Moscow with her drawing of a New Year hut. The second stamp will be issued based on Polina Mitroshkina’s drawing of a hare in a winter forest.
The competition was held on August 22 through September 25 by JSC Marka with support from the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Union of Philatelists of Russia. The operator of the contest, authorized to accept and process the competition applications, is the ArtContract information and exhibition agency, www.artcontract.ru.
The jury consisted of professional artists, graphic artists and designers, members of the Union of Artists of Russia. In total, the organizers received 308 contest entries made in various techniques: graphic design, watercolor and oil painting, pencil drawing, etc.
The All-Russian drawing competition of a postal stamp and a greeting postcard for New Year and Christmas among professional and amateur artists has already been held for 5 years.
