On November 1, an official ceremony took place of cancellation of a picture postage stamp dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

The event was attended by Vyacheslav Lebedev, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, and members of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

The history of the institution of the Supreme Court dates back to January 4, 1923. Nowadays, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation is the highest judicial body for civil cases, cases to resolve economic disputes, as well as criminal, administrative and other cases. In the procedural forms provided for by the federal law, the Supreme Court conducts the judicial oversight over the activities of courts addressing civil cases, cases to resolve economic disputes, criminal, administrative and other cases as a supervisory-instance court, as well as a court of appeal and cassation within its competence.

The postage stamp provides an image of the building of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the emblem of the organization. The Print Run is 108 thousand stamps.

On October 10, 2022, the postage stamp was put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.

Traditionally, issues of the state valuable postage matter are timed to landmark historical events, and are dedicated to outstanding personalities, nation-wide projects, state organizations and major backbone enterprises of the economy.
