The event was held in the building of the railway station in Veliky Ustyug of the Vologda Region, from where the New Year train sets off on its journey across the country. The cancellation ceremony was attended by Vitaly Tushinov, a Deputy Governor of the Vologda Region; Alexander Kuzmin, the Head of Veliky Ustyug municipal district; Dmitry Pegov, a Deputy Director General of JSC Russian Railways; and the country's chief magician, All-Russian Grandfather Frost from Veliky Ustyug.
The Train of Grandfather Frost is a unique joint project of JSC Russian Railways and the Government of the Vologda Region. On this day, the All-Russian Grandfather Frost from Veliky Ustyug and his fairy-tale assistants went on a journey across the country in a festively decorated mobile residence. The train is equipped with a reception room for the chief magician, cars for games and quests, a restaurant and a souvenir shop. The train with the main magician of the country will cover more than 33 thousand kilometers and visit more than 100 cities in Russia this season. The main magician of the country will give the New Year's spirits and smiles to tens of thousands of children.
