On September 28, an official ceremony took place of cancellation of a stamp dedicated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

The event was held as part of the celebration of the 220th Anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The ceremony was attended by Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Dmitry Kim, the Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instituted in 1802 in accordance with the Manifesto of Alexander I On the Formation of Ministries in terms of reorganization of the public administration system to replace pre-existing collegia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation today is a federal executive body responsible for the development and implementation of state policy and statutory regulation in the field of foreign policy, international relations and international cooperation.

The postage stamp is issued in the framework of producing five postage stamps dedicated to ministries of the Russian Federation. The postage stamp provides an image of the emblem of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation with indication of the years of their foundation. The Print Run is 48 thousand stamps.

Today, the postage stamp was put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.

Traditionally, issues of the state valuable postage matter of the Russian Federation are timed to landmark historical events, or are dedicated to outstanding personalities, nation-wide projects and major backbone enterprises of the Russian economy.
