On August 26, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of a stamp dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the I. Levitan Memorial House-Museum

The ceremony was held in the I. Levitan Memorial House-Museum in Plyos of the Ivanovo Region, a famous and popular place in Russia. The event was attended by Timerbulat Karimov, the Chairman of the Guardian Council of the Plyos Museum-Reserve, the Chairman of the Plyos urban settlement Council; Alla Chayanova, the Director of the Plyos Museum-Reserve; and Artem Adibekov, the Director General of Joint Stock Company Marka.

The I. Levitan Memorial House-Museum is part of the State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve in Plyos. Great artist Isaak Levitan painted about 200 artworks in Plyos including some of his best paintings: Evening on the Volga, Birch Forest, Evening - Golden Plyos, Quiet Abode, After the Rain. Plyos. Besides, the Museum has in its possession paintings by two other artists: 16 paintings by Alexey Stepanov and 11 artworks by Sofia Kuvshinnikova.

The postage stamp provides an image of the building of the I. Levitan Memorial House-Museum. The Print Run of the postage stamps is 135 thousand items; the face value is 40 rubles.

The postage stamps went on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain throughout the country.
