On June 20, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to the Russian Historical Society

The ceremony was held in the framework of the General Meeting of the Russian Historical Society. The event was attended by Sergey Naryshkin, the Chairman of the Russian Historical Society, the Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation; Anatoly Torkunov, Co-Chairman of the Russian Historical Society, the Rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; and Nikolai Makarov, a member of the Presidium of the Russian Historical Society, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The postage stamp provides an image of the complex of buildings of the Russian Historical Society in Moscow and its emblem. The face value of the stamp is 50 rubles; its Print Run is 120 thousand stamps. The design developed by Nadezhda Karpova.

The postage stamps have already been put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain throughout the country.

Traditionally, issues of the state valuable postage matter are timed to landmark historical events, as well as are dedicated to outstanding personalities, major backbone enterprises of the Russian economy, state and public organizations.
