On May 19, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of an illustrated stamped envelope dedicated to the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

The event was attended by Valentina Matvienko, the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; and Alexander Sapronov, the Chairman of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

The Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was instituted and operates on the basis of the Resolution of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation No 93-SF dated April 27, 2012. The aims of the Chamber are assistance to the legislative activities of the Federation Council and development of youth Parliamentarism in the Russian Federation. The main objectives of the Chamber are development of recommendations and proposals for legislative insurance of rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, including youth, development and examination of relevant bills; monitoring and promotion of legislative initiatives of deputies of legislative (representative) bodies of state power of the subjects of the Russian Federation and representative bodies of municipalities aged below 35; exchange of experience and international cooperation in the field of youth Parliamentarism. As of today, the Chamber has 168 members.

The illustrated stamped envelope features a map of the Russian Federation, the logos of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The print run is 500 thousand envelopes.
