On May 19, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the foundation of the All-Union Pioneer Organization named after V.I. Lenin

The ceremony was held in the Gostiny Dvor in Moscow. The event was attended by Irina Pleshcheva, the Head of the Department of Projects and Programs in the field of education of children and youth of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Public Projects; Denis Gribov, the Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation; Sergei Ryazansky, the Chairman of the Russian Movement of Schoolchildren, Hero of the Russian Federation, pilot-cosmonaut; Marina Mokshina, the Executive Director of the Russian Movement of Schoolchildren; and Alexander Kudryashov, the Director of federal state budget institution Russian Children and Youth Center.

The tax value of the postage stamp featuring images of symbols of the pioneer organization (badges "Be Prepared" and "Always Prepared!" against the background of a pioneer tie) is 60 rubles, the print run is 120 thousand stamps.

Today the postage stamp was put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.

Traditionally, issues of the state valuable postage matter are timed to landmark historical events as well as are dedicated to outstanding personalities and major backbone enterprises of the Russian economy.
