On December 23, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of a stamp dedicated to the New Year

The ceremony was held in the Exhibition Hall of the Moscow Department of the Russian Union of Artists in the framework of opening of the Christmas on Begovaya annual exhibition. The event was attended by Pyotr Radimov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Department of the Russian Union of Artists, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation; and Artem Adibekov, the Director General of JSC Marka, Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation, a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

New Year is the most beloved and long-desired holiday for most of Russians. A New Year stamp 2021 is the winner of an All-Russian drawing competition. From August 13 through September 20, JSC Marka with support from the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia (MOSH Russia) and the Union of Philatelists of Russia held the All-Russian competition of drawings of a postage stamp and a greeting card for the New Year and Christmas. Svetlana Tokarenko, a designer from St. Petersburg, has become the winner of the stamp drawing contest. The round postage stamp provides an image of a stylized snowflake. The stamp is made on self-adhesive paper. The print run is 414 thousand stamps. Drawings by Galina Nazarenko from Yekaterinburg, Darya Lyutikova from Rostov-on-Don, Anna Zamolotskaya from St. Petersburg, Maria Zemlyanykh from Krasnoznamensk, Moscow Region, and Marianna Sovyk from Moscow have been acknowledged the best in the Postcard category. Each postcard is issued in the quantity of 1 thousand items.

The jury of the contest consisted of professional artists, graphic artists and designers, members of the Union of Artists of Russia. In total, the competition organizers received 126 art works performed in various techniques: graphic design, watercolor, oil, pencil drawing, etc. All the products are on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain throughout the country.

Guests and participants of the ceremony toured the exhibition representing art works that feature winter landscapes, still lives, portraits, genre and abstract compositions dedicated to winter and winter holidays. Among these, the exhibition displays one of the paintings by Artem Adibekov.
