The ceremony was held in the Sirius Science and Arts Park in Sochi. The event was attended by Dmitry Chernyshenko, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation; Andrey Fursenko, an Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation; Valery Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; and Andrey Grigoriev, the Director General of the Advanced Research Foundation, the Chairman of the Board.
By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the year of 2021 was declared the Year of Science and Technology. The goal of the Decree is the further development of science and technology in the Russian Federation. Today, neither economic nor social changes can be successful without science. Therefore, the major task is to augment our intellectual potential in order to meet all modern challenges. The year of 2021 brought everyone together to ensure that our science reaches a new level and sets the world trends in the development of modern technologies.
The postage stamps show the technical advancements of Russia, such as anthropomorphic robot Fedor, unmanned flying vehicle Cyclone, combat robotic vehicle Marker, and autonomous uninhabited underwater apparatus Vityaz. Print run is 110 thousand stamps each.
