On November 15, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of a stamp dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications

The event was attended by Andrey Zhivov, the Chairman of the Council of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications, the Deputy Director of the Department of the Development of Mass Media and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation; Ksenia Drozdova, the Director General of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications; and Evgeny Buydinov, the Chairman of the Operations Committee of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications, the Deputy Director General for Telecommunications Systems Development and Operation of FSUE Space Communications.

The Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications is an international intergovernmental organization for the provision of satellite communications services. It was founded on November 15, 1971, in Moscow. Currently, it unites 26 states (members of the Intersputnik Organization), which are represented by national communications organizations. The objective of the Organization is to contribute to the strengthening and development of comprehensive economic, scientific, technical and cultural relations by communications as well as by radio and television broadcasting via artificial satellites of the Earth; to promote cooperation and coordinate the efforts of the member countries in designing, establishing, operating and developing an international system of satellite communications.

The postal stamp features the jubilee logo of the Intersputnik Organization. The print run of the postal stamp is 120 thousand stamps.
