Young artists of Russia will draw postage stamps

The Marka Publishing House held a guidance counseling workshop for students of the Moscow Central Art School of the Russian Academy of Arts.

On October 27, high school students of the Moscow Central Art School of the Russian Academy of Arts visited the Marka Publishing House within the framework of the activities of the PRO-movement All-Russian children's art-educational project, which is underway with the use of the funds of the grant of the RF President for the civil society advancement, provided by the Presidential Grants Fund.

Artyom Adibekov, the Director General of JSC Marka, told about the importance of the state valuable postage matter and the requirements set to the artists. The Publishing House makes use of art works by several dozens of own artists and freelance authors; the artistic expert board of JSC Marka selects and approves all the postage stamp sketches on a competitive basis. Every year, all-Russian contests of stamp designs are held. The uniqueness of the state valuable postage matter of Russia consists in the variety of themes, techniques and printing technologies. This allows this country to hold a leading position in the world philatelic community.

The future miniature artists saw the complete 1992 – 2021 collection of postage stamps of the Russian Federation; they got acquainted with the principal stages of postage miniature production, including the augmented reality integrated technology, printing techniques, and saw the operation of the equipment for checking the protection means of postage stamps.

As was stated by Artyom Adibekov, early occupational guidance is an opportunity for talented children and teenagers to become self-fulfilled in the creative and career aspects. Cooperation with the best art schools in the country will allow JSC Marka to diversify the postage stamp issues and develop the genre of postal miniatures as a separate artistic movement.

According to the children, the excursion was very enlightening; many of them discovered the variety of valuable postage matter as an opportunity for creative self-fulfillment and cooperation with JSC Marka as prospects for advancement.
