On October 12, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of an illustrated stamped envelope dedicated to the 130th Birth Anniversary of surgeon and scientist Sergei Yudin

The event was attended by Sergey Petrikov, the Director of the Sklifosovsky Clinical and Research Institute for Emergency Medicine, M.D., Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences; professor Mogeli Khubutiya, the President of the Sklifosovsky Clinical and Research Institute for Emergency Medicine, M.D., Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences; and professor Mikhail Rogal, the Deputy Director for scientific work of the Sklifosovsky Clinical and Research Institute for Emergency Medicine, M.D.

Sergei S. Yudin (1891-1954) was a prominent Soviet surgeon and scientist, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, Chief Surgeon of the Sklifosovsky Clinical and Research Institute for Emergency Medicine, Director of the A.V. Vishnevsky Research Institute for Surgery, Full Member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR. The scientist’s fundamental works covered the issues of abdominal, urgent and military field surgery, and anesthesiology. Sergey Yudin is the author of 15 monographs and 181 research papers. He was awarded the Order of Lenin (1943), two Orders of the Red Banner (1944, 1945), the Order of the Red Star (1942); he was a laureate of the Lenin Prize (1962, posthumously) and Stalin Prizes (1942, 1948).

The envelope features a portrait of the outstanding surgeon, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR Sergei S. Yudin and the logo of the Sklifosovsky Clinical and Research Institute for Emergency Medicine. The print run is 1 mln. pieces.
