Art of a Stamp exhibition opened in Plyos

Art of a Stamp exhibition opened in the Levitan Cultural Center in Plyos; the exhibition presents postage stamps, envelopes, and postcards dedicated to the cultural and natural heritage of the Ivanovo Region, as well as paintings by contemporary Russian artists.

The exhibition displays pieces of graphic and painting art by the members of Russian artists’ associations, whose artworks were pictured on postal miniatures: People’s Artists of the RF N.I. Borovsky, A.I. Teslik, V.A. Glukhov, E.V. Romashko; as well as paintings by leading artists of the Marka Publishing House: the corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts Artyom Adibekov, Sergei Ulyanovsky, Olga Savina, and others.

In the frame of the exhibition, a ceremony was held of the cancellation of a postcard featuring the Over Eternal Peace painting by Isaac Levitan. The ceremony was attended by Timerbulat Karimov, the Chairman of the Plyos town settlement Council; Artyom Adibekov, the Director General of the Marka Publishing House, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts; and Alla Chayanova, the Director of the Plyos Museum-Reserve.

In Plyos, Isaac Levitan painted about 200 pieces of art, which brought him great fame, and Plyos came to knowledge to hundreds of tourists. The print run of the card is 2,000 items. The postcards have been put into postal circulation and Russian nationals can purchase them at post offices and in the chain of the Collectioner show rooms through the country to mail their correspondence.
