On October 5, a stamp dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications went into postal circulation



The Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications is an international intergovernmental organization for the provision of satellite communications services was founded on November 15, 1971, in Moscow.

Currently, it unites 26 states (members of the Intersputnik Organization), which are represented by national communications organizations.

The objective of the Organization is to contribute to the strengthening and development of comprehensive economic, scientific, technical and cultural relations by communications as well as by radio and television broadcasting via artificial satellites of the Earth; to promote cooperation and coordinate the efforts of the member countries in designing, establishing, operating and developing an international system of satellite communications.

The postal stamp features the jubilee logo of the Intersputnik Organization.

In addition to the issue of the postal stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and a special cancel for Moscow.
