The Sedov is a four-masted barque built in 1921 in Germany. During the Second World War, the barque sailed in the Baltic under the German naval flag. After the war, it was transferred to the USSR as a reparation from Germany and renamed in honor of the famous Russian polar explorer G. Ya.Sedov.
The barque made its first voyage under the flag of the USSR in June 1952. In 1981-1991, the Sedov served as a training vessel for the Baltic Detachment of training vessels of the Zapryba MRH of the USSR. In 1991, the vessel was transferred to the Murmansk State Technical University, a subordinate educational institution of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, from that moment on, future generations of captains, navigators, mechanics, radio operators and electricians are trained on it.
It is the largest sailing training vessel that has survived to this day, and on this basis, the bark was listed in the Guinness Book of Records in 1993.
From 1992 to 1999, Sedov participated in regattas held by Cutty Sark, while in 1992 he took second place, in 1994 — third place, and in 1995-first place for the regatta. From 1966 to 2015, the ship made 93 training voyages and repeatedly participated in international regattas, during which the sailboat called at ports in Europe, America, and Africa more than 200 times. In 2006 and 2010, the Sedov made high-latitude Arctic expeditions, and in 2013, in St. Petersburg, it completed its first circumnavigation of the world. In April 2017, the Sedov barque was transferred to the Kaliningrad State Technical University and changed its home port from Murmansk to Kaliningrad. In 2019-2020, he participated in a round-the-world expedition of Rosrybolovstvo sailboats dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. During the expedition, more than 350 cadets of Rosrybolovstvo educational institutions were trained on the ship.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, envelopes of the first day were issued and special cancellation stamps were made for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Penza and Kaliningrad, as well as a cartmaximum, an art cover, a postage stamp inside, a vignette and an envelope of the first day with cancellation for Moscow.
