On June 22, a postage stamp dedicated to the monument of Fallen Defenders of the Motherland was presented

The event took place in the State Historical Museum. It was attended by Igor Levitin, the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, the Secretary of the State Council of the Russian Federation; Vyacheslav Petushenko, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Avtodor State Company; Konstantin Mogilevsky, the Executive Director of the History of Motherland Fund; and Artyom Adibekov, the Director General of JSC Marka.

The monument of Fallen Defenders of the Motherland was installed on the 561st kilometer of the Neva Federal Highway as part of the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Avtodor SC State Company took a decision in the process of preparation to commissioning the route between St. Petersburg and Moscow that it must have its memorable sites. The monument perpetuates the feat of the Red Army soldiers who fought here during the Great Patriotic War. The site for the monument was chosen by no accident: in Myasnoy Bor of the Novgorod region, the fighters of the Volkhov Front held back the advance of Nazi troops. In 1942, the place was the scene of fierce battles. The 3-m high monument in the form of a warrior-defender was made by a creative team of the M.B. Grekov Studio of military artists. On the opposite side of the highway, an icon-case chapel was installed with the icon of the Novgorod Mother of God The Sign and the Alexander Nevsky icon.

The postage stamp provides an image of the monument of Fallen Defenders of the Motherland. The print Run is 154 thousand stamps. In addition to the issue of the postal stamp, JSC Marka will produce First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and Veliky Novgorod, as well as an illustrated envelope with the postal stamp, a label and a First Day Cover with a cancel for Veliky Novgorod inside. The stamps will go into postal circulation on June 27, 2021.
