On May 5, 2021, an All-Russian competitionof postage stamp sketches themed "The Image of Contemporary Russia"was launched; the contest invites artists to find and visualize the contemporary generalized image of Russia, based on the richness of natural, historical and cultural heritage of the country.The results will be summarized on the eve of the RussiaDay celebration.The winner's work will make the basis for issuing the state valuable postal mater, a postage stamp, and artworks of 5 laureates of the competition will become postcards.
The organizers of the competition are the All-Russia People's Front and JSC Marka with support from the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia.The partners of the Project are information and exhibition agency ArtContract and the trademark of products for artists VISTA-ARTISTA.
The organizers will appreciate participation in the competition of citizens of the Russian Federation aged 18 and older: professional painters and designers, students and graduates of creative universities, non-professional artists and creative teams. Applications for participation in the competition will be accepted until June 7, 2021.
A participant in the competition needs to create an interesting, vivid, eye-catching artistic image of contemporary Russia, apprehensible to every person of this country and people in other countries, using various techniques: graphics, painting, computer graphics, collage and others. Besides, highlighted is a special nomination, Symbol of Russia of 2020, which presupposes a collective artistic vision of Russia and its people who have manifested responsibility and solidarity in the fight against the COVID-19 infection.
Online applications for participation in the competition to design a postal stamp sketch will be accepted until June 7, 2021, on the website of information and exhibition agency ArtContract: https://artcontract.ru/contest/2414.
A contract will be signed with the authors of the works to be used on valuable postal matter and the fee will be paid.The best sketches will be presented in the Art of a Stamp exhibition project arranged by JSC Marka in cooperation with the Moscow Department of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Russian Academy of Arts
Finalists will receive valuable prizes from the VISTA-ARTISTA trademark.
