By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of April 5, 2016, "for the purpose of maintenance of national and public security and the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms», a new Federal executive body was instituted: the Federal service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.
The primary objectives of the service are as follows: participation in maintaining public order and providing public security; protection of critical state facilities and special cargo; fighting terrorism and extremism; providing support to Border guards of the Federal Security Service in the control of the state border of the Russian Federation and other tasks.
The postal block provides an image of the official coat of arms of the Federal service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation and enlisted men formation.
In addition to the release of the postal block, envelopes of the first day will be issued and special postmarks for Moscow and St. Petersburg will be made.
