On February 2, four stamps with images of medals will go into postal circulation in continuation of the State Awards of the Russian Federation series

State awards of the Russian Federation are the highest form of encouraging nationals for prominent services to the Homeland defense, state-building, economy, science, culture, art, upbringing, education, protection of citizens’ health, life and rights, charity activities and other services to the state.
The state awards are instituted and awarded by the President of the Russian Federation.

 

Medal For Distinguished Service in Defending Public Order,instituted in 1994.
Medal For Distinguished Service in Defending Public Order is awarded to officers of Internal Affairs agencies of the Russian Federation, penitentiary system, military servicemen and other citizens for merits in defending public order and fight against offences.

 
 
Medal For Distinguished Service in Guarding the State Border, instituted in 1994.
Medal For Distinguished Service in Guarding the State Border is awarded to military servicemen of the Federal Security Service and other citizens for feats of arms and special merits in the protection of the state border of the Russian Federation.

 

Medal For Life Saving, instituted in 1994.
Medal For Life Saving is awarded to citizens for rescuing people during natural disasters, on the water, underground, when extinguishing fires and under other life risk bearing circumstances.

 

Medal For Courage in a Fire, instituted in 2018.
Medal For Courage in a Fire is awarded to the staff of the Federal Fire-Fighting Service, military servicemen and citizens of the Russian Federation as well as foreign citizens for courage and valiance shown when extinguishing fires, saving people from fire and in emergency recovery operations.

In addition to the issue of the postal stamps, JSC Marka will produce First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd and Sevastopol, as well as an illustrated envelope with four postal stamps and a First Day Cover with a cancel for Moscow inside.
