In Memory of Vladimir Devyatov and Azat Fazlyakhmetov

Sad news about the death of two prominent figures came from the Union of Philatelists of Russia.

On November 1, 2020, Vladimir Vasilyevich Devyatov, Vice-President of the Union of Philatelists of Russia (SFR), Honorary member of the SFR, member of the jury of the SFR, Chairman of the Union of Philatelists of Udmurtia, died suddenly at the age of 58. For many years, Vladimir Devyatov was a leader in the promotion and development of philately both in his native Udmurtia and among Russian philatelists. Vladimir Devyatov's exhibits were awarded with high awards at many All-Russian philatelic exhibitions. Especially significant and fruitful was his long-term work with the regional branches of the SFR on philatelic exhibitions, competitions and events. V. V. Devyatov for many years actively worked in the jury board of the SFR, he paid great attention to the popularization of philately among young people, was the creator and editor of the popular website of philatelists of Udmurtia.

On October 30, 2020, at the age of 56, Azat Rashitovich Fazlyakhmetov, a member of the Presidium of the Union of Philatelists of Russia (SFR), chairman of the Society of Philatelists of Bashkiria, passed away after a serious short illness. Especially valuable was his active work in promoting, organizing and conducting various philatelic competitions, presentations and exhibitions in many cities of Russia.
