On October 13, an official ceremony took place of cancellation of an illustrated pre-stamped envelope dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of foundation of the Bonch-Bruevich Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications

The event was attended by Oleg Dukhovnitsky, the Head of the Federal Communications Agency; Alexander Belsky, the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg; and Professor Sergei Bachevsky, the Rector of Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications.

Nowadays, the University is a recognized leader of the Russian higher school in the field of training specialists for the communications and telecommunications sector of economy. The status of the University remains invariably high from 1930, when a special Higher School in Radio Engineering and Telecommunications was instituted in Leningrad on the basis of the Higher Communications Instruction Courses, and to the present day. The structure of the University comprises 28 departments in the composition of 6 faculties, including 6 basic departments affiliated to the enterprises of the industry; a military training center; a Graduate School; an institute of continuing education; Communications Technologies science and research institute; a telecommunications college and 2 branches: Arkhangelsk and Smolensk telecommunications colleges. SPbSUT provides teaching for about 11 thousand students. For more than half a century, it has been training students from more than 40 countries around the world. Among its graduates, there are world-renowned scientists, prominent public and political figures, chiefs of the branch companies and enterprises working all over the world.

As the Head of the Rossvyaz stated, the Federal Communications Agency in cooperation with Joint-Stock Company Marka annually produces various philatelic products dedicated to the anniversaries of state, public and scientific organizations. This time, both organizations did not stand aside either and put into postal circulation in the quantity of 1 million pcs illustrated pre-stamped envelopes featuring the anniversary emblem, the university building and students.
