The Grand Kremlin Palace is one of the palaces of the Moscow Kremlin built in 1838−1849 by order of Emperor Nicholas I. The palace serves as the ceremonial residence of the Chief of State.
The St. Alexander Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace and is named after the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky, which was instituted in the Russian Empire in 1725 by order of Empress Catherine I. The walls are embellished with paintings featuring episodes from the life of Prince Alexander Nevsky. At present, the St. Alexander Hall accepts the meetings of the State Council of the Russian Federation.
