A competition for artists is starting to design a New Year postal stamp and postcards



The Moscow Branch of the Association of Russian Artists and JSC Marka under the sponsorship of the Federal Communications Agency and the Union of Philatelists of Russia are about to hold an All-Russian drawing competition for the issuance of a New Year postal stamp and postcards. The organizers will appreciate participation in the competition of citizens of the Russian Federation aged 18 and older: professional painters and designers, students and graduates of creative universities, and non-professional artists.

The goals and objectives of the competition are increasing the interest for stamp collection; popularization of the genre of the author's artistic miniature executed both in traditional “manual” techniques (author’s graphic works, limited edition graphics, collage, etc.) and with digital technologies; extending the tradition of the author’s artistic stamp and increasing the artistic level of state valuable postal matter; and bringing new authors to the genre.

To participate in the competition, a submitter needs to design an interesting, bright, eye-catching sketch of a stamp or postcard dedicated to the New Year in various techniques: painting, author’s or computer graphics, collage, and others.

Applications for participation in the competition to design a sketch of a postal stamp and postcard will be accepted online until September 15, 2020, on the website of information and exhibition agency ArtContract: https://artcontract.ru/contest/2275; https://artcontract.ru/contest/2271.

The competition results will be announced on September 21, 2020. Agreements will be concluded with the winners of the competition and fees will be paid. The best works will be selected for issuance of a New Year postal stamp and five greeting cards.
