The event took place in the Rybinsk State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum Preserve. The ceremony was attended by Denis Dobryakov, the Head of Rybinsk, Vladimir Bushuev, the Director of the Fund of St. Andrew the First-Called, and Sergei Cherkalin, the Director of the Museum.
The postal stamp features Fyodor Ushakov’s portrait, St. Andrew’s flag, battleship
Saint Paul and a map of Corfu and surrounding areas. The postal stamp was issued in 180,000 copies. In addition, a souvenir pack with a label was produced that provides an image of the monument to Fyodor Ushakov and his uncle Fyodor Sanaksarsky installed in the village of Khopylevo of Yaroslavl region.
The cancellation ceremony was held in the framework of the
Art of a Stamp exhibition, which is under way in the Rybinsk Museum Preserve. The exhibition presents a collection of state valuable postal matter, as well as paintings and graphic works of members of the Russian Association of Artists, whose works can be seen on postal miniatures: People’s Artist of the Russian Federation N.I. Borovsky; People’s Artist of the Russian Federation V.A. Glukhov; People’s Artist of the Russian Federation E.V. Romashko; Honored Artist of the Russian Federation N.N. Plastov; People’s Artist of the Russian Federation A.A. Lyubavin and others.
The exhibition will extend until August 14, 2020, at the address: 77 Volzhskaya Embankment, Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region, daily from 10:00 to 19:00.
