On July 8, a postal block dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia was put into postal circulation



On June 8, 1920, a Karelian labor commune was founded, which on July 25, 1923, was transformed into Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, and subsequently, in 1991, into the Republic of Karelia.

The Republic of Karelia enters into the composition of the Northwestern Federal District and is part of the Northern Economic Region. Its area is 180.5 thousand sq. km with the population of 614 thousand people (2020). The capital of the Republic is Petrozavodsk.

The postal block provides images of the coat of arms, natural and architectural attractions of the Republic of Karelia and is decorated with the national ornament.

In addition to the issue of the postal block, JSC Marka will produce First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg and Petrozavodsk, as well as a magnet and an illustrated envelope with a block, a label and a First Day Cover with cancellation for Petrozavodsk inside.
