On May 7, a stamp dedicated to the Soviet Soldier Memorial in Rzhev was put into postal circulation



The Soviet Soldier Memorial in Rzhev was put up near the village of Khoroshevo of the Rzhevsky District in the Tver Region, on the site of fierce battles of World War II in 1942–1943. Sanguinary battles along the perimeter of the Rzhev-Vyazemsk salient lasted 14 months.

The monument was built on public donations, its construction and opening is one of the key events of the Year of Memory and Glory in Russia.
The stamp provides an image of the Soviet Soldier Memorial in Rzhev.

In addition to the issue of the postal stamp, JSC Marka will produce First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and Rzhev of the Tver Region.
