On March 23, a postcard with a commemorative stamp dedicated to the 200th Anniversary of Grigory Ivanovich Butakov, combat leader and naval commander, was put into postal circulation in the History of the Armed Forces of Russia series


Grigorii Ivanovich Butakov (1820-1882) was a Russian naval figure, naval commander, Adjutant General, Admiral, the father of the steamship armored fleet tactics, and a Black Sea researcher.

The commemorative stamp provides images of Russian warriors of different times; the central picture presents G. Butakov’s portrait and steam frigate Vladimir.

In addition to the issue of the postcard with a commemorative stamp, JSC Marka will produce special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sevastopol.
