25 On February 25, during a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Director General of JSC
Marka Artyom Adibekov told about the activities related to the issuance of postal stamps of the Russian Federation.
Currently, two series that reflect the artworks of great painters of the past and outstanding figures of the present are being issued. These are post blocks devoted to anniversaries of the famous Russian artists and academicians; and stamps of the
Modern Art of Russia series.
A large collection of stamps devoted to the cultural heritage of Russia became the basis for unique exhibition project
Art of the Stamp, which has been held since 2017. The project represents a joint display of paintings, graphics and post miniatures.
Zurab Tsereteli, the President of the Russian Academy of Arts, highly appreciated this work, having noted that, "in addition to the main function of payment for sending written correspondence, stamps carry out an important educational mission, retaining and propagating the Russian academic art worldwide".
