The event was attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the head of the Federal Communications Agency Oleg Dukhovnitsky.
Dobrynin demonstrated outstanding achievements as the ambassador of the USSR in the United States, where he worked for 25 years - from 1962 to 1986. He took a personal part in resolving the Caribbean crisis, worked in the conditions of international tension, and helped stabilize Soviet-American relations. During his work in Washington, five general secretaries were replaced in the USSR, and six presidents in the United States. Despite all the difficulties in relations between our countries, the ambassador invariably defended the interests of our country.
“The Federal Communications Agency together with JSC “Marka” annually produces various philatelic products dedicated to outstanding statesmen and public figures of Russia. The envelope depicts a portrait of Anatoly Fedorovich and the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The circulation of the envelope is 1 million copies. I’m sure that the artistic stamped envelopes of this issue will be a valuable gift for residents and visitors of Russia and will forever preserve the memory of an outstanding Russian diplomat, ”said the head of Rossvyaz.
