Handbells (Campanula ; from Lat . with ampana - bell) - herbaceous plants belonging to the bell family. This genus includes more than 300 species. The best bells grow in the steppes , in the meadows, on the rocks, desert areas, as well as in the forest. Blossom from June to frost. Under natural conditions, they can be found in areas with a temperate climate: in Central and Western Asia, in Siberia, in the Caucasus, in Europe and in North America.
The most common are perennial bells, but there are also one- and two-year-olds. The flowers are bell-shaped or star-shaped and are colored in white, yellow, pink, blue, as well as in various shades of purple.
Bologna bell: ovoid and pointed leaves. The flowers are quite small, painted in blue-violet tones. It blooms from June to August. It grows in the European part of Russia, Western Siberia, in the Crimea, in Ukraine, Central Asia, Moldova, in the Caucasus.
Campanula Persicifolia: g LadKom sheet plate have a serrated edge, causing similar to peach leaves. Large flowers are painted in blue, white or bluish-lilac color. It blooms from June to September. It grows in Western Siberia, on the territory of the European part of Russia, in the Caucasus, in Ukraine, Western Europe.
Bell ciliated: leaves oblong, serrated at the edges, with eyelashes tilted back. The flowers at the base of the calyx are blue-violet, at the upper edges of the corolla limbs - purple. It blooms from June to July. It grows in the Caucasus.
Hanging bell (drooping): the leaves are bright green, with rounded teeth at the edges. The flowers are whitish cream color, trimmed with whitish hairs. It blooms from June to early autumn. It grows in the Caucasus.
