National drawing contest starts in Russia in run-up to the Day of Children and Parental Happiness

The Federal Communications Agency, Marka joint-stock company and the Foundation of St Andrew The First-Called are inviting schoolchildren and students to participate in an all-Russian contest for the best drawing for a postcard dedicated to the Day of Children and Parental Happiness.

The winning drawing will be featured on a state sign of postal payment – an illustrated stamped greeting card.

The contest is to be held from 16 April till 5 May 2018 for three age groups: schoolchildren, students of art schools and colleges, and HEI students. Applications must be sent till 5 May 2018 to сard-2018@fap.ru. The results will be finalized on 15 May 2018 года.

The competition aims at forming a socially attractive image of the multi-child family, promoting family values among children and young adults, encouraging their creative initiative, artistic skills, as well as at searching for young talents, supporting and rewarding them.

The tradition to celebrate the Day of Children and Parental Happiness started several years ago. The feast harmoniously combines two holidays: the International Children’s Day and the Global Parents’ Day both falling on 1st of June, and relates to the holy day of the spouses Dmitry and Eudocia who lived happily for 22 years and, according to the chroniclers, were an example of “chaste marriage”, love, respect and fidelity. They had 12 children.

For the contest results please visit our websites www.fap.ru and www.rusmarka.ru on 15 May 2018. All details and Contest Regulations are available at www.fap.ru.
