March 29, a cancellation ceremony was held of a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of military commissariats



The participants of the event were Nikolai Pankov, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, and Oleg Dukhovnitsky, Head of the Federal Communications Agency and Actual State Councillor, 1st class.

On 8 April 1918, county, district and governorate military commissariats were established by the Council of People’s Commissars Decree in Russia. At present, military commissariats (voyenkomaty) are one of the links to ensure national conscription. They have greatly contributed and are still crucial for maintaining strong defence capability at the national level.



“The Federal Communications Agency and JSC Marka carry out tasks of civil and patriotic education of citizens by annually releasing various philatelic products dedicated to major state institutions. The new stamp will now enter philatelic collections. These unique copies will always keep the memory of today’s event and become a philatelic rarity among the collectors all over the world”, said Head of Rossvyaz.
