February 26, 2018 a presentation of the
Opening Russia exhibition of JSC Marka artists’ works was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria. The participants in the opening ceremony were Boiko Kotsev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation; Vladimir Shelikhov, Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency, and Gennady Provotorov, People’s Artist of Russia and Secretary at the Russian Artists’ Union.
The exhibition has been timed to coincide with the arrival of spring which is celebrated in Bulgaria on 1 March – Baba Marta Day (Grandma March Day), and is associated with Maslenitsa (Butter Week) in Russia. The exhibition showcases the picturesque works by the members of the Russian Artists’ Union: Artyom Adibekov, Sergey Sviridov, Fyodor Sukhinin and Sergey Ulyanovsky.
The creative activities of Marka painters and designers are not only limited to postage miniatures, our artists are used to going for plein air painting to Moscow close vicinity, remote corners of Russia and abroad. They create graphical and fine art paintings addressing landscape, portrait and still life genres.
