Malye Korely is a major open-air wooden architecture museum in Russia. It was founded on 17 July 1964 and is located in a village of the same name about 25 kilometres from Arkhangelsk. The museum includes the main exhibition area of 140 hectares and has 120 wooden monuments dated from the 16
th to the beginning of the 20
th centuries. The unique religious, domestic and household buildings as well as instruments of labour, means of transport, furniture, dishware and kitchen utensils reflect the region’s historical and ethnographical peculiarities, authentic culture and traditions of the Russian North coast dwellers.
