The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ will be the 21
st edition of the tournament and is set to take place from 14 June until 15 July 2018. The FIFA World Cup™ will take place in 11 cities: Ekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, St Petersburg, Samara, Saransk, Sochi and Volgograd.
JSC Marka signed the license agreement on July 21, 2015, thus becoming the first Russian licensee of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The Russian philatelic program is the largest throughout the history of FIFA World Cup™ tournaments. In total, 64 stamps and souvenir sheets, 11 postcards with original stamps, 47 artistic stamped envelopes and postcards, and more than 200 special cancellation postmarks will be released into postal circulation over the 2015–2018 period. The total printrun of state signs of postal payment issued will amount to approximately 100 million copies.
Eleven postcards for each 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Host City are issued altogether. The postcards feature the Official Logotype, Host City Logo and Host City Elements.
