November 21, an exhibition titled "Space Age in Philately and Deltiology" opened at the Museum of Cosmonautics. The exhibition is a continuation of the "Opening up the Funds" museum project. The participants of the opening ceremony were Artyom Adibekov, General Director of JSC "Marka", and Natalia Artyukhina, Museum Director.
JSC "Marka" as the exhibition partner shows a part of thematic items from the company collection. Over 160 years the enterprise has been issuing state signs of postal payment of the Russian Federation - postage stamps, postcards, stamped envelopes. Space-related postal products are always much sought after.
The first postage stamp dedicated to the space age was issued in the USSR in 1957 to commemorate the launch of the world's first Earth satellite. The space theme has become increasingly popular in philately ever since.
"The exhibition is indeed unique because it has for the first time gathered all space-related postage issues of the Russian Federation since 1992. Beside the postage stamps we display most of stamped envelopes and postcards issued during that period", said Artyom Adibekov, JSC "Marka" General Director.
The exhibition is open till 25 February 2018.
