November 16, a cancellation ceremony was held of postage stamps dedicated to the Diamond Fund of the Russian Federation

The commemorative cancellation ceremony was held at the Grand Kremlin Palace with Anton Siluanov, Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, and Oleg Dukhovnitsky, Head of the Federal Communications Agency.

The Diamond Fund of Russia forms a part of the State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones of the Russian Federation. The fund houses one of the most renowned and largest collections of unique precious stones, noble metals and pieces of jewelry art, which have great historic, artistic, scientific and material value.

The crown jewels of the Diamond Fund were put on display in the building of the Kremlin Armory in Moscow in November 1967.

"The unique treasures of the Russian Diamond Fund have appeared on the stamps to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the exhibition. These are the Orlov diamond, the globus cruciger, the emerald brooch and the magenta-pink tourmaline pendant. The circulation of each stamp value is 225 thousand items. Thanks to such releases of state signs of postal payment we attract the Russian and international public attention to historical, spiritual and cultural values of our country. I am certain these postal miniatures will become a precious gift for the Russian citizens and tourists from abroad", said the Head of the Federal Communications Agency.
