September 28, postage stamps dedicated to Senior Lieutenant Vladislav Dolonin and Major of Police Viktor Matveev to be issued as part of the Heroes of the Russian Federation series



Vladislav Aleksandrovich Dolonin (1969-1995) was a commander of the special task group of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, senior lieutenant. By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of October 13, 1995 Vladislav Dolonin was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously) for the courage and heroism shown in the performance of a special task.



Viktor Vladimirovich Matveyev (1963-2001) was the Head of the Department of the SBR under the Moscow police department, major of the police. By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of November 17, 2001, Viktor Matveyev was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously) for courage and heroism shown during the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus region.

The postage stamps depict portraits of Heroes of the Russian Federation and the Gold Star medal.

Additionally, JSC “Marka” will manufacture first day covers. Special cancellation postmark for Moscow will also be produced.
