June 23, an official cancellation ceremony of an envelope dedicated to the All-Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Aircraft Materials took place



The ceremony took place in the building of the All-Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Aircraft Materials in Moscow. Vladimir Shelikhov, Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency, and Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yevgeny Kablov, FSUE VIAM Director General, took part in the event.

The All-Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Aircraft Materials is the largest state materials science company in the Russian Federation. It develops materials for aeronautic and space equipment. The institute creates and introduces into production new materials that meet the highest standards of durability, service life and reliability, which allows to gain and keep leading positions in the world’s aerospace community.

The institute directly participates in eight federal target programs. Nowadays, 36 laboratories and manufacture workshops work in 16 scientific fields. The institute owns 943 patents in the Russian Federation and has created 1398 manufacturing secrets.

VIAM received the Order of Lenin in 1945, the Order of the October Revolution in 1982, and was assigned a status of a State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation in 1994 году.



“The Federal Communications Agency together with Joint-Stock Company “Marka” annually manufacture various philatelic products dedicated to Russian state and public organizations, as well as scientific and educational institutions. I am sure this envelope will become unique, a philatelic rarity among collectors of the whole world forever retaining the memory of the today’s event”, said Mr. Shelikhov.
